Smokin' Em!

Capt Blair Wiggins Everglades Sawfish

Ever seen a Sawfish? I just happened to catch one a few years ago down in the Everglades when shooting an episode with Capt. Brian Sanders. They are a cool looking fish, look just like a saw and sharp as one too. They are federally protected so you can't target them, can't bring them on board and can't possess one, but if you happen to hook one, be sure to take the time to de-hook it and release with respect. These things are so awesome and cool looking, prehistoric almost. Definitely a treat to see! Did ya see what I saw?! Ha! Check out a throwback clip from that episode:  SAWFISH CLIP

I'm in St. Pete in this week's episode fishing offshore a bit with Capt. Ryan Farner. Capt. Ryan is sort of a Kingfish guru here on the Gulf side of Florida. He's also part of the Skeeter/Yamaha team, and we always have a good time fishing together. In this week's episode he puts me on some Mogan Kingfish, we like to call 'em smokers. You may also recognize Capt. Ryan from last season's episode "Hogs in the Fog" where we were catching those cool Hogfish in Tampa Bay on a foggy, foggy day. If you haven't seen that episode, you really need to check that one out too!

Tune in tomorrow (Friday) at 9:00 a.m., Sunday at 9:30 p.m. or Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. on Fox Sun Sports for this week's episode "St. Pete Smokers."

Minn Kota Ulterra Trolling Motor

I can finally tell you about the top secret Minn Kota mission I was on a couple of weeks ago . . . the self deploy/self stow, saltwater Ulterra trolling motor. It makes ya feel like you're James Bond or fishing right out of Mission Impossible. All you have to do is hit a button to deploy and hit the button again to stow. I never have to get down out of my cobia tower if I don't want to. Charter Captains, your job just got a lot easier. Fishermen - if your fishin' buddy cancels last minute, don't worry, you can now go alone and not run around the boat getting trolling motor down, engine up, etc. It's all at your fingertips . . . this is the ultimate fishing gadget!  Check it out >>  Minn Kota Saltwater Ulterra

American Fish Flag by Eagle Claw

Well, Happy Independence Day America! Hope y'all have a great weekend celebrating our country's birthday, and if you're on the water this weekend, be safe.

Until next week . . . tight lines,
Blair
