under the feather

The AF crew is gearing up for the biggest trade show of the year – ICAST. This is the industry show that introduces all of the new gadgets, gizmos and “gotta have” toys that have been kept under wraps before they are released into the marketplace. Everybody that’s anybody in the fishing business will be there, including this fine feathered reporter.

Seeing Is Believing
This early bird gets the scoop on Costa’s NEW 580P Sunrise Lens. Designed to be worn in the early hours of the morning or late in the afternoon, the Sunrise Lens allows maximum light transmission and enhanced depth perception to cut glare when the light is low. Costa’s 580P lens is lightweight, impact resistant and 100 percent polarized to block yellow light from entering the eye, creating razor sharp color enhancement. Get the birds eye view on the NEW Costa Sunrise Lens and see what’s out there.

On The Fly
The “fly” guys have been stoked since we posted the “coming soon” picture on the FaceBook page. The NEW Flats Blue fly rods and Sabalos fly reels will be in the stores soon after they make their debut at ICAST. The Blair Wiggins signature series Flats Blue fly rod has already been put to the field test right here on this fine program in “Poontastic!” Stay tuned for more news about these products and much more after ICAST.

Coming Up on Addictive Fishing
We’re popping the cork this week on Addictive Fishing. The Mogan Man breaks out the DOA Deadly Combo to pull redfish out of the sticks in the Florida Everglades with Capt. Brian Sanders. Catch the excitement Friday @ 10:30 am, Sunday @ 9:30 pm and again on Tuesday @ 6:00 am on SunSports. Can’t get enough Addictive Fishing on the tube? Subscribe to the AFYouTube channel. It’s FREE and airs any episode at the click of a mouse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As an added bonus, Mr. Producer will throw in this week’s episode in its entirety on Tuesday!

Mogan of the Week
We got a blast from the past this week when “Big Rob” crawled out of the local music scene long enough to send us a picture. We thought it was an old picture when we saw the hat, but CooKnFish confirmed that he took the picture and Rob McDowell still knows how to use a DOA shrimp to catch a sunset snook. Way to go, Rob! Welcome back to the Addiction, you’re our Mogan of the Week!
