I got some emails and PMs about a picture I posted in my report earlier this week.

"What is that thing hanging out of that fish's mouth? It looks like an aardvark!"

I had no idea what it was or who made it. It was given to me by a friend so I didn't know anything about the bait until I started getting asked questions about it. Here's what I have found...
It's an Aaron Marten's Rollin' Runner made by Blakemore Lures. I'm not sure who carries them. I did find them on the internet at a couple of places. Maybe someone can peek in Gander Mtn to see if they have them?

I also found out that there is another model coming out in mid December called the Salt Runner. Its a little different because it has red prism eyes, a Bleeding Bait hook, and a Colorado style blade which is 22k gold plated and smaller than the one that I'm using.

Here a pic of the AM Rollin' Runner

...and the Salt Runner.

It seems to work pretty well. I bounce it along the bottom and it picks up redfish and trout. My buddy lost a couple to some snook too. I can't wait 'til the new on comes out. I like the looks of the smaller gold blade.

Anyone else seen or used these?

Interesting, the blade sits below the lure. I can see how the added flash and vibration could make it deadly. I have seen similiar jig heads for freshawater but have not heard how effective they are.

I once had a bad day of fishing, but it was still great!
