| is the trolling motor being used as your main power or for trolling for trolling a 36 to 44 lb thrust is more than sufficient for that size gheenoe if it is going to be used as main power i would step up to a 36volt 101lb thrust w/digital control so you can run more precise slow trolling speeds when needed |

| Gheenoos are great and if u cant find a lil kicker a trolling motor will do ya i had a jon boat trollin moter set up once andu don't need a big one ur not gunna go fast no matter how big it is.......i would keep to a single battery motor keep it cheap, light, simple and productive.....

| | yes - it will be the main source... Basically it will be used to get down the river to a spot, so I can get out and fish the river in my waders.... and to get back up river to pack up.

| | Thanks for the reply - I ended up getting the 50lb MinnKota, which seems to work fine. I finally got my boat this week!...
But I really not a fan of the light tan color. The good news is, the bottom half of the boat is coated in Line-X and for the top half I plan to change the color and wrap it in vinyl. Here is the color: Hope that link works... I like the carbon fiber look, plus we happen to have a 50 yard roll left over from another job we did. Once i get finished I will take some pics.

| | If you are not fishing with the engine on I suggest you get a kicker with internal fuel tank. They are lighter than a trolling motor and two batts and mwill push you a little faster. If you are gonna fish in the boat a 40 lb thrust Minn Kota pushes my 13 Gheenoe fine but I also have a 6 hp OB. |

| The Graphite vinyl didn't work... butthe dark green did! I really didn't like the tan color, so I had my guys at work wrap it in a special vinyl that we use for vehicles.
