Trying an old beat up real is not going to tell you anything about a new one.... if the used reel works half way decent, no one would be getting rid of it.

I once had a bad day of fishing, but it was still great!

Hey I found a new reel for a cheap price and its super smooth. Check out the new shimano 4000fb slade its really smooth and only costs 25.00 at west marine. And it handles power pro really well. I had the new stradic and it was crap compared to this reel check them out. Tongue
