| SilentQuest (12/19/2006) Can I ask a question of you Gheenoe owners? I am really thinking of getting on of these things. I am an avid kayak fisherman up here in Stuart and I believe that in most situations the kayak is better for the inshore fishing I do than any other boat. That being said, I can't take my wife and daughter in it, I can't fish the tarpon in the north fork and there are some other places I would like to fish where kayak access is a long paddle away. I'm thinking a flats boat will be overkill for what I want and very expensive. Will the Gheenoe do all the things I listed? What will I miss between a Gheeno and a flats boat like a Ranger Phantom or Ghost?
I'm serious because on the surface I can't think of anything except cost, gas, maintenance, etc.
Thanks.
let me say this...
I can take my wife and lil girl in it - with no problems.
I see kayaks all the time on the river... me personally I like to stand up from time to time or move my legs around... sometimes sticking them out in the water to cool off! lol

| eaglescout (12/15/2006) Nice geenu what size trolling motor do you use mine is a 40# riptide saltwater as we have a lot of brackish creeks here
#55 lb thrust on it - works great unless they are generating lol the other day - MLK day, we decided to go fishing and they turned on the dam to generate at 2 pm during the day which they never do... we ended up trying to go back up the river at 3600-3800 cfm's and couldnt make it - we had to walk it along side the steep banks and finally made it back. We could of just gone down stream to another take out, but decided to walk the boat up the river.

| bdebes (1/26/2007) I'm interested in buying a Gheenoe boat.. Problem, determining which one is best suited for me.. I'm 200 plus pounds, drive a Tahoe and love to fish skinny water.. Like the idea of roof top hauling on the 15'4", but curious about the difference in stability of the 15'6".. Plan to use an 8 hp engine, speed is not a consideration, rather stability first, workable layout second... Also like opinions on must have options.. I'm trying to find the closest dealer, with a blue hull, best price short of driving to the factory.. I live in Houston, so nothing is real close.. MS dealer only has camo.. Help..
im 6'4" 250 and my buddy who goes with me is 6'3 300 - and we do fine in the 15'4 - drive a yukon with it - new pics:

changed the color to black to match my suv... did it with vinyl.
