Well, when I was 12 my father, uncle and myself would fish for specks in Lake Woodruff and the surrounding runs. Sometimes trolling was the trick sometimes dipping minnows in the pads. It was the thing to have the longest pole so you could dip WAYYY OUTT there in those little tiny pockets. I had two bream busters at about 11' each and had rigged a huge whip antenna (20' probably) into a pole. I had bites, all three at one time, the two bream busters overboard, I held onto the antenna getting my fish. What was important to me was having the longest pole

Oh, did I mention I am 40, is it okay to post here??

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.

dropping the leathermans into a 5 ft mudflat while dehooking a catfish. kinda sucks and isnt funny lol. or catching a panfish holding it up to take the hook and in the blink of an eye a red shouldered hawk flying away with it. this all happened in one trip.

I was once bass fishing with a spoon on a six piece rod and when I casted the rod came apart right above the reel and my spoon bounced off of a turtles back into the water. Intsantly a bass took it and I had to reel it in without any guides, which felt weird. I got the fish at the waters edge and I put my rod back together. While doing so, a raccoon ran in front of me and took the fish and ran away.

i got 3

one time i was fishin the psj power plant, we pulled my boat into the discharge current ok. my anchor never comes untied, but this time the rope was not even hooked up. i ran grabbed my anchor and threw it off the bow, and half a second after throwing it, i realized it was attached to nothing and was a flying anchor. i almost pissed myself right there, it was so funny. never found it either.

next thing was i was fishing around nasa causeway, anchored up, threw out baits. about 2 hours pass, got 2 reds on other rods, with this one still out. then the drag screams for half a second and a watch the rod fly into the water about 20 feet in the air. i sat there for a second in amazement then jumped out! and ran through the water in the last direction i saw my rod traveling. after a minute of feet shuffling i found it still being pulled. i grabbed it and the red was still on! i reeled him in, a nice 27 incher, after that he was dinner.

one winter night at the psj power plant we decided to try redfishing. the manatees were all over, and we had a canoe. as we paddled back, the manatees were all over the flat in 1.5 of water, we spooked em under the canoe and gave us one hell of a ride, like on rapids. they did this for about 100ft. the girl with us cried and everytime a manatee would come up, she would cry, and we were messing with her saying the manatees would eat her and are very dangerous. she cried and was scared to death the whole way to the truck at manatee hamock. we had a few more manatee run ins before makin it back.

next time i'll tell the stories of all the bogus stories me and friends have told on water law officials. i have been stopped about 25 times by fwc and others on the water in the past 2 years. no tickets yet tho.

P.O.S. BOATS

NOTHING RUNS LIKE A PIECE OF ****
