| | I have only been fishing in the lagoon for a short time. I have seen pictures of these large schools of reds. I can only find singles and most of the time blind casting. I have been putting in around oak hill and fishing that area, I guess it would be called Eldora area. I have also been a little south where the lagoon opens up. I have good luck with trout but only a few reds here and there. any tips. Hunter57 |

| | You are in the right general area, but it just takes time. I don't know what kind of boat you have, but you may want to try some of the areas to the west around the oyster bars. Also, head south down the old east channel and look around the back/east side of George's bar. Finding the big schools of reds is tough when you aren't out on the water every day. Where they were this weekend, isn't where they will necessarily be next weekend. It is often a game of luck, you just have to put in the time and find areas where they will likely be.

| You cant beat tiger shoals for the big schools of nice reds if you have a top spots map it will be easy to find also it is in the poll and troll zone so that makes it even easier just look for the bright yellow buoys

| You might want to give the north IRL a try. Back on sept. 19th I found a school of over slot reds for the first time. It was the coolest thing I ever saw.Sight casting to a tailing red for the first time, the red hit the skiiter walk and spit but came back for it 3 times before hooking up 30 inch red.The next shot came on white and chartruse exude. The school was busting mullet all around us.The bait was flying out of the water, got hooked up on first slam. The reds were in a feeding frenzy-there was other reds hitting the lure that was hooked and hanging out of the mouth of a 34inch red. There had to be atleast 200 fish all 30plus inches. In two years that is the only school i've been able to find so keep looking its worth the wait.

| | Thanks for the help, I went today 10/1/06, and found some fish, wind was blowing in the afternoon and most of the fish saw me before I saw them. I did get my wife hooked up I managed to see a tail for a split second and stopped the boat. I put a Gulp crab on and put it out in front of him. After a short fight my wife got him to the boat 25 inches, she loved the fight. I am going to try Tiger Shoals next week, is it better in the pole and troll zone or out in the open west of that area? |
