Has anyone every tried rigging a weedless DOA shrimp? Does it work effectivley? I just took a 3" natural DOA shrimp took the J-hook out that it comes with and rigged it with a 3/0 Worm hook. No need for a pinch weight since a weight is built in. You think it'll work?

The shrimp body needs to be modified for it to work. The plastic body is too hard and thick and gets in the way when setting the hook.
Take a razorblade and cut a groove in the belly to hallow it out like one of the CAL jerktails.
Because the weight must come out to cut the groove, use a pinch weight on the hook. you can break the weight in half if a whole one is too heavy for where you are fishing.
