| | Gander Mountain, Lake Mary, Fl...Sep 22! LOL That's the premier. They will be available at all Gander Mountains after that. Trice is going to let us know anywhere else she finds out they will be carried, but she is encouraging us to talk to our local tackle shops about carrying the Capt Blair Wiggins Inshore Slam Series Rods!

| | WC Bradley Corp. that owns Quantum bought Fin-Nor and hopefully will bring it back to its old glory. The Quantum Cabo and Boca line are the best most durable, reliable reels I have ever owned. We went 11 for 20 on Tarpon last week in one day with the Cabo 60's and 40's and they did'nt miss a beat. All fish were hooked on the trolling model DOA baitbuster. |

| | i really hope Quantum brings back the Megalite line of reels from Fin-Nor, I have a couple and I still love them. Ive got a couple of Cabos and they are just awesome reels...just heavy. If Quantum can combine the cabo and Megalite, i think they've gotta winner. BTW, Capt. Blair, got anymore specs on those reels youve been using?

| | Themao, I have used all brands of reels, and have always come back to Shimanos, I have finally gotten the new 2500 stradic, and love it (thanks again to chum for helping the wife at Christmas time), I even got her one for mothers day. They are a little pricey, but worth the whole $129.00, I don't believe in going any higher than that for a reel, afterall it's just a fishing reel. i've seen huge fish caught on really cheap junk reels with no problem. Expensive reels are just an extravagence, and the women really get into em if they're "pretty" like a piece of jewelry LOL. Use whatever works, and don't worry about keeping up with the jonses, even an ole cane pole and a bobber can be just as productive, fun and relaxing all at the same time. JMHO Mike

| | The new Fin Nor reels are more heavier than the previous versions. They feel like a cross between a Fin Nor and a Van Staal. We weren't impressed at ICAST? |

| | I have'nt seen the new ones in person. Even if I did I would'nt change from the Quantum Cabo line. I hope AF gets a good reel sponsor who ever that may be. |

| | I have never used the reverse reel option on reels...I agree with Matt, it seems to be just a few more parts to get messed up. Austin |

| Speaking of messed up, my two Okuma VS's continue to go downhill fast, but they are still plenty fishable. I have sent off the two stradics I used and abused for so many years to get serviced and see if the anti reverses (why are they even on there) can be fixed. Then I will use the ole workhorses while I send the VS's of to be fixed. I honestly think some reel manufacturers think they you are not actually going to use and catch fish all that much on their reels. AF addicts gots to have good gear, because we WILL test it
I once had a bad day of fishing, but it was still great! CHB: the few, the proud, the chosen |

Here's a big question I would like to know...... How many of you out there actually use the anti reverse on a reel? Does anyone reel backwards on a fish? Are you asking if we use the reverse or anti reverse? When I use my spinning reels, which is not often, I keep the anti-reverse on so the hook set will be tight and sharp. There are times when I release it allowing me to reel backwards when using light line like drop shoting. |
