| Im kinda new to the forum, Names Chris. Just curious if anyone else is familiar with this place. Its a fishing rod graveyard , I already lost 3 star rods there, Not to mention all the other rods I fished out of there. Does anyone else do the whole lantern trick. |

| Used to hang a lantern off the old railroad tressel and dip shrimp as they came by. No trouble at all filling a 5 gallon bucket a night. Too bad they tore it down.

| | No the tressel is still there. But a big fence is in the way. That doesnt stop me though, I just swing around it. There are huge fish on the other side of that. I was all the way at the end and there was a huge shadow in the water, I had no idea what it was but it was huge. I am guessing a big drum or Grouper. I usually get to the pier at 9:00 PM and leave around 6:00 AM. The water is always on fire between those times. The snook pop like crazy!!! If anyone is after monster fish thats the place to go. |

| Glad to know it's still there. Last I heard it was to be torn down. Used to be some monster black drum there. Guess I will have to pay it a visit after MM. Have you dipped any shrimp from there? We used to really nail them.

| | There is always a ton of snook at the Placida pier. Best bring some heavy tackle though. |
