| Met up with Kayak 4 2 (Mike) from the OKFC forum at Eddy Creek this morning in hopes of finding some quality fish. We launch before sun up and made our way out to the last island before the lagoon opens up just as the sun was starting to pop over the trees.
The water is way up and the bait is everywhere, everything from finger mullet, giant black mullet, to glass minnows everywhere. We worked the west side of the island with mirrodines and poppin corks rigged with gulp shrimp. I was the first to hook up with a massive 10" red. After a quick release I hooked up again on the very next cast to a sweet 21" red that would make his way home for dinner.
After a release into the cooler I looked back to see Mike hooked up to what turned out to be his 1st red ever!!!!
CONGRATS ON THE 1ST REDFISH MIKE!!!!!
As for the rest of the day it was slow! I managed one dink trout and saw quite a few sheephead but no takers.
And what would a day be on the lagoons with a little rain on the way home.

| I really want to get back down there. It is such a drive from up here. Soon as the water cools down I will really be wanting to fish whale tail.
I say we work two days and fish five!!!!  |
