i seem to get my hands on alot of different things. gheenoe, jon boat, kayaks, flats boats, it floats im willing to borrow or go with. lol. labor day i was off l pond rd on gheenoe going towards black point seein massive amounts of large black drum, reds all over and trout. and also just beside the channel 10 guides chasing spawning mogans. long story sort, big black drum, not prepared. gave up at 1. but anyway i borrowed a kayak yesterday, my sleeping habits r so out of wack i didnt even sleep and around 5 i was outside anxious, preping tackle and organizing. i was there exactly at sunrise putting off of L pond road, the water was low and i slowly made my way toward black point. the flat is dead!!!!!! no blacks no where, and today i bought 40 shrimp, slowly kept yaking toward black point. zig zagging tryin to find reds or anything. absolutley dead!!! of course. i yaked toward the shore and literly find reds within 5-10ft of shore beneath all the floating grass. kept going for 2 miles. spooking reds every 50ft. i casted shrimp at them had 3 bites but still not much. caught one no pic. paddled 45mins against the wind to get back. i still didnt mind being out there wasting my time. and the water rose a foot and half by the time i got off the water. i never knew tides effected that far inland.

It Doesn`t Jeff,Wind Driven at best up there

I don`t think any time spent on the water is Wasted Time, even if you leave your Rod`s in the truck, you can still learn something just watching.
You noticed the fish against the shore, spaced out about every 50'....
You noticed that fish will move around from day to day......
You noticed Changes In Conditions, with Water Level and Clearity.......
Nothing Outstanding by it`s self, but each time out you`ll pick up a few more Mental Notes that will help you at a later date, when you run into those same conditions.

I think we learn more from our Failures, than we ever learn from our Success

Keep At Em Jeff !!!!!
