Every DOA I own, Gulp shrimp, Spoons, Redfish Magic, Lazer Sharp 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0 hooks, One spool of 30 lbs. test mono, 1-3 oz. egg sinkers, 1/4 oz. split shots (live bait), 75# barrel swivels, Pliers (with clippers), All purpose knife, Scale/Measuring tape, Stringers, and a cooler full of refreshments and ice, and a 8 foot redius cast net with bait bucket. That's what I bring on the average inshore fishing day on the ICW or in the Bays of the Panhandle.

I have heard you can never have enough........they may hit one color today and another the next day.  They may be hitting top water then all of a sudden change......I too have too much tackle and I have a set of large plastic drawers full of plugs still in the boxes but they do make they way to the tackle box sooner or later.  Same goes for my reels.....

i can tell you that i sit down with my partner on friday afternoon, afrer work and we go through everything that we want to fish for. weather it be reds, trout, jack, tarpon, whatever....but we have to decide what the targeted species is. after we decide that we rig up 3 different poles for that species....ie a topwater, jerk/fluke bait, and a swim bait. finally we pick an choose what to take in case we come into a different species other than the targeted one. it just helps to have everything ready incase the targets fish isnt hungry and you can go after another one! good luck.

Well if you want to go for a lighter load, then take out the stuff u dont use and put int he stiff u do use...(or stuff that works...)  the doa shrimp in glow color works great so bring one of those to pitch under docks, etc...also the terroreyes works good (black top and goldish body..)  also topwater plugs.... and live bait and popping corks... you will be needing leader, hooks, wieghts.... but u r right, if you know what u r going to fish for and just that fish, then only bring the gear u want to use...i hope this helps..

Good Lord....lets all hope FlatsStalker doesn't answer this question, with his collection of tackle, we might just run out of bandwidth if he decides to list all the possibilities.....

Fishing saltwater, you just never know what you might run into, so I agree with the "bring it all" reply....but then again, I'm not a collector of tackle and lures, lol.....One 4 box tackle bag and a waist pack with 3 more smaller boxes does it for me.

Hey! I Cry Foul!

I've downsized and streamlined my tackle IMMENSELY since our first trip chumhead! and I'm still weeding through the boxes, switching stuff out I don't use.

although... I DO Still have 3 Tackle boxes.

1 Inshore

1 offshore/trolling

1 car (kitchen sink)

...then there's the small tackle store I run out of my room...

The car box will see alot more use in the winter, and will be the ultimate fishing box for any situation I may run into from shore... as long as I can figure out what to throw!

(Show me again what a livewell is supposed to look like when your boat is brought around... )
