Ron (7/5/2009)
shimono teramar 7" medium with a stradic 2500

Terrific combo. The 6'6" works well.

I absolutely love the Wright Mcgill's. They have alot of backbone and hold up well to big nasty fish. Their warranty and service is second to none.

I have 5 of them: 2 7', 2 7'6", and 1 7'9". Love them all.

If you see an Evolution Rod, they are also very good with a solid carbon blank. Had problems with the guides but they also stood behind their product and sent me a whole new rod free of charge.

I like my penn af4000 on a 7ft wm.  I catch everything on it, snook, baby tarpon, reds, trout, big jacks, bonitas, and macs.  Just broke the tip on it today and my reel needs a new bail spring so it's out of commission til' I run to the tackle shop.  For offshore/pier fishing I like my avet MXL on a 20-30# 8ft star.  You can horse big snook out from under the pier with it and I love the 8ft rod for trolling.

You cannot go wrong with Teramar's and more pricey the Kumara's! GREAT RODS. Lenghts all depend on what I'm throwing. when throwing arties in the bushes 6'6'' teramar with a sustain 2500!
