| Ron : Check your Linkage Adjustment`s,they may have gotten loose,and moved on ya  Loosen the adjustment screw,manualy put the motor in Reverse,then put the Controller in reverse,then tighten the adjustment screw.....Check for SLOP in controller and at the motor. If it`s an internal gear problem,it will most likely just grind all the time,not kick itself out of gear

| ronnie like cracker said, we need to pull off the lower end, i saw under the cover, noting is loose. its that thing in the lower end, the ball bearing shifter thing., i can bet money. the clank comes from the lower part of the engine.

| | The only other thing I can add is, check your idle. If it's idling too high it can be difficult to get in gear, remember there is no clutch on it. Cracker's right though, loosen bolt, put it in reverse and retighten bolt. Good luck. Mike :o)
