| | i have a 2005 key largo 160 with a 50hp yami does about 28mph (lil slow) and honeslty it floats as shallow as i would ever wana fish (5 inches or so) only problem is could defintly use a jackplate and trim tabs, has hardly any decking, needs a poling platform and as far as the front decking goes its super small would hafta make a custom small casting platform to put on there. i dont really want to dump this much money into this boat because this is more of just a general inshore boat. and im lookin to mainly fish the lagoon and it just doesnt do it for me. Now heres my problem, ive looked at tons of different models rangeing from used pathefinder 15t to new beavertails and mitzis. i honestly can not decide what i would rather get. i have a 50 hp motor i can put on whatever i get if it does not have a motor. i honeslty just want your opinion on what you have and why you like/dislike it and why/what you would have done different.....sorry so long and thanks for your help. |

| sounds like alot of work, and adding ur platforms and all ur work will add wieght and slow it even more. i got my boat for 800, but it needed alot of work, i refiberglassed parts, built a covered battery cubby, wired everything, livewell, platforms, painted the outside and started the inside, new tires, new axle, new trailer lights, and a winch. i've dumped 600$ into it, all that work was a pain, if u got the money to blow, go with a new boat, or sell ur boat, keep the motor, and find a lil more fit boat for ur needs. this is what my boat looks like now. it was a baby poop green. its lookin good tho. finnally

| my boat gets into about ankle deep with 1 person, 3-4 inches with 2 and 6 with 3. it takes chop ok, but the splashing gets ya. i go about 35-40mph with the 25. its very easy to pushpole, and the hual slap can get ya at the wrong angle. that boat don't look like a 74 whitley trihual does it? it gets the job done. i've taken it outta sebastian in 3-4ft seas, a lil freaky, but it did well.

| whats up btap, i had no clue that was u. 14k, holy cow, u can get a pretty descent boat. i would say idk, a good shallow running boat that can take some chop, with some speed to it, u kno. dude we need to get out on those reds again soon, up there last week, found em, but they were spooky, but this is the time when me and eric manino went and i got 4, so i think there will be some day they bite.
