don't u think thats alot for reel maintnance? i would do that, but only if i notice the reel is not functioning properly, not after each trip

I do not do take down reels as in my previous post on a regular basis. If you have a need to do that then these are good basic instructions.

Spinning reels seem to need less maintenance then a baitcaster used in saltwater.
