| | diawa make the smoothest reels and they hold up well, the sol is saltwater safe it says so on diawa's website and it has to hold up better than shimano reels at least diawa uses all metal internal parts unlike shimano that uses plastic gears and plastic parts. as for line as long as your using the 2000 size or larger you could use line up to 12 pound mono diam or smaller the smaller the better it cast the only thing is anything smaller than 4 pound diam mono will get wind knots and wrap around the rod tip and in wind it becomes a real pain in the neck i stick with 15 pound pp or larger ive been using stren microfuse and love it i use it in 10 pound test it cast well and i have no problem with tip wrap or wind knots and it is a lot clearer than pp or other briaded line has a blue tint so at night it glows blue i can see it during the day or night and the fish dont see it well best of both worlds plus it matches my quantum cabo rod and reels not that matters but it looks nice like it was made for each other. |

around $200 Yea that's what I figured. The general thought pattern seems to be that you get a "better" deal on ebay. However, most times when it comes to fishing tackle that just is not the case. If you'd shop around many online tackle retailers have discounts that far exceed ebay when you take into consideration shipping and most of these retailers will provide excellent service after the sale. BTW, I could have sold you the same reel for $179.96 ($199.95 less 10%) including free shipping and I would have had it to you in 2 or 3 days. Plus, I'd be there after the sale to personally answer all of your questions.... Any how, you purchased a sweet reel and best of luck with it. Jeff

Jeff I would have to agree with Angler systems on this one. I dont think ebay is the best place to buy new gear. Thats just my opinion. With that being said I dont think you will notice much difference between 8 and 10# braid on your reel. I have never owned a Sol but have been told they are nice reels. As far as holding up to dunking? I dont think any reel is going to hold up to dunkings if not properly serviced after the fact. Again just my opinion.
