| since thursday i have been out on a boat almost everyday. started out thursday with me, ron and his girlfriend on ron's boat outta scottsmoore. we got to our school and found them tailin happily. ron threw out a half crab and after a few casts hooked up and handed it off to his girl who has only caught one fish ever. she fought it for 10mins. then after the fight me and ron went after the reds, about 20 mins later ron hooked up with a nice 37 once ron got him in, we went after more, another hour passed and i hooked up with a biggin after him we let the fish calm down and we went to see rons mom wading a few hundred yards away, after a while we went back to the school, and i got another, i don't have that pic, ron has it still. after a day of fishin we left and called it a day. the next mornin me and my friend tj got out on the water in psj on my boat, we started at the power plant and got dozens of ladyfish for bait over the next weeks, then to the powerlines on the east shore to find grass in every hole and sight casting impossible. but as we left the power lines tj got a nice 20 inch trout and he went into the box. we moved to south of rinker to find almost nothin, then as we reached a creek, the waters started filling with game fish, we started to see bait and game fish all over, we spooked up many big trout, and a few good slot reds. i got a 15 inch red from blind castin a stopped v wake. we then tried indian river drive and gave up instantly, so we motored to nasa causeway, we found a few reds, but they were to hard to see with so much dead grass in the potholes, so we spooked several up. we called it a day. sunday, me patrick and tj got up to scottsmoore to go for there biggest reds. we got up to the school and what do u know, ron was on it with another kid and his boat. so we tag teamed the school. tj took one cast, the very first of the day a got a 44 incher then a kid on the boat with ron hooked a 37 incher.after that we got back to the school and patrick got a 42 incher all these reds were caught on cut blue crab. the school started to get more and more spooky, so we all laided of em, then we moved in again. ron hooked up between the boats with a monster. after a 20 min fight, ron pulled in a 49.5 incher. it took ron 20 mins to revive. after this fish, we let the school calm and tried to get bait, and lost the school, we spent 2 hours motoring the whole area up to a mile away trying to find the school, no where to be found, that was a first. then today me and my bud brandt got out on the water from psj, to find the water level down a foot, and the flats very shallow. we went to the power plant first, got a few ladies, then to the creek south of rinker, we saw a few reds and trout there, but no bites. the wind already picked up, and since its summer, i automatically figure every day will be calm. but the winds kept building. we went to the manatee hamock area and found a bunch of sheepshead and cocky tarpon 5ft from the boat in 9 inch water. no hits, no luck there. we moved to the south west corner of nasa causeway, but since the water levels were so far down the spot was crap. from there went to the east shore north of nasa causeway, to also find the water even lower and the sand holes almost out of the water with no fish in em, as the winds built more. the skies darkened and we head back to psj, as we left the flat we kept spookin reds and got angry, but the skies told us to leave. 10-15knt winds at least on the way back with river white caps, made it to the ramp with no gas to spare, litterly if u put what was left of the gas in a water bottle it woulda filled it 1/4 the way. lol. close call.

| | Incredible Fishing! Very cool your friend took the time reviving the big momma. I've been hearing everyone talk about these big Reds and having lockjaw. I'm sitting here thinking there has to be something they'll eat. Your the first to mention crab and obviously it worked. Great job Capt |
