I found these two new colors while doing some tackle shopping earlier this week. I have been waiting for Mirrolure to come out with this lure in a gold sided plug for off-colored water. Now they have! Guess my e-mail worked!

The colors I found that have the gold foil sides so far (gold relective foil inserts) are the 17MRG (Clear with Gold Foil) and the 17MR19 (Green Back, Gold Foil, Yellow Belly, Red Chin). There may be additional ones but so far, these are the ones I've seen.

I bet the fish will tear these lures up in dingy water! The reds should just crush these gold sided plugs. I know the beach snook will. Going to try them out tomorrow a.m.! The trebles are 3X strength if I'm correct.

Here's the pic:

Can you guys not see the first pic? I posted the second one via AF but the first one is per my Snapfish album. Let me know. I can see both pics when I log in.

As to retrieve, a simple twitch twitch, pause, twitch, let it sink ....repeat works pretty well for me. When sightfishing, pull the lure away from the fish and if the fish shows interest, pick-up the speed to intice the strike. The flash from the twitch really gets the hit because it seems like the lure is injured, so remember to present it in a way that imitates a wounded baitfish.

I purchased my Mirrodines at Cook's Sportland in Venice but check and ask your local tackle stores to see if they can order them for you.

Dick's and Bass Pro may also have them in stock but if they are very new, perhaps not?

Nice plug KenT, thanks for the heads up on the new colors.

I use the same retrieve as KenT, but I also have had success with a steady twitching retrieve. No mater how you retrieve these plugs they will attract the fish. Same goes for the MirroMinno.

Just wait until the Mirrodine XL hits the shelves! If you like the Mirrodine, you're going to love the XL. It's bigger and has heavier hooks. It throws like a rocket but works just like the original. It's not coming out until September so you have a couple of months to make room in your tackle box.
