My stepdaughter and I met up with fish4reds and his brother inlaw and headed for Grannys Cove early. It was to windy I drifted the flat once and it was a wash so my daughter and I loaded up and went to beacon 42 ramp at Mosquito lagoon. We covered a lot of water for a couple of ours when all the sudden Fish On!
This is a 25" Gator Trout. A little later we were drifting the same flat before we left and it was Fish On once again!!Photobucket">

The date on the pic is not correct this is my daughters camera!

Good Report Gator......Looks like yall made the better choice, from what fish4reds told me,they didn`t see much on the other side of the Goon.

How far North did yall go ? I like the Upper End of those West Shore Clinker`s,the fish just gets to hammered near that Beacon Ramp, they are there, but after they see the first couple of boats, they get spooky

What were yall useing for Lures ?

Thanks Cracker The first set of flats just south of the ramp. I caught my Trout on the MirrOlure AKA the trout killer and the red on the good old johnson spoon. I finally got to take my new boat out so it was a really great day if ya know what i mean

So yall went South....Hmmmmmm

First day on the water with a New Boat ........Always a GREAT DAY !

Hard to beat those Gold Spoons, been useing them for years, and caught almost all of my Red`s on SPRITES

We`ll meet up with ya soon out there, and work some area`s together.......I find it easier to find the fish in an area,by working them with one or two other small boats

Nice fish bro. If the winds and the trolling motor would have been working in my favor I would have been right there with you. We ended up drifting a nice flat on the other side of the sand bar just across from The Beacon 42 ramp and came up with one trout, but did see some huge schools of reds but they wouldn't eat. By the end of the day we had couple trout and lady fish and that was it. Last time Shawn and I drifted the flats around Beacon 42 the fish had lock jaw, they are so pressured and have probably see every artie out there.
