Like I said we were in my new boat and I wasn't 100% sure of what she would draft, I found out real soon I missed the 4 inches the johnny sat in. The new boat with 2 people on board was drafting 9"-10" at rest and 6"-8" under way. Once we figured out how deep we needed to be it was on.

Gator30 showed me up and landed the first fish on MY BOAT, I wasn't thrilled but we had a fish on board so no big deal. Jerry  got a nice big Gator Trout, 25" and 4 1/2 lbs.

Now it was my turn, I hoped. Roughly a half hour later...fish on, it was a nice red. It took some drag and then made a run at the boat and as soon as it saw the boat, zoom gone again. After getting untangled from under the motor, (not used to having a big a$$ motor to get tangled in) we had another nice fish in the boat. The red measured in at 24" and was 5 lbs.

Gotta remember to turn the visor around next time for the picture, kinda funny looking.

It was a great day to be on the water yesterday, nice and calm in the early parts of the day and a lite chop as the day burned on. I'm very pleased with the new boat, but it will take some time getting used to....big jump from a 12' jon boat with a 5 hp to a 16' flats/bay boat with a 60 hp on the back. Let me tell ya, it was nice with the little chop on the IRL in a bigger boat. Cracker11 packed up an hour and half before us due to the chop. Cracker, you can pole me around any time you want, that platform is calling your name....cracker...cracker...cracker

2 18" Red`s & 1 15" Trout....All Released

But Glad to see yall found a few decent fish

 I seen several Very Upper Slot Red`s,along with plenty of smaller ones,but none seemed hungry.......but that area around Boathouse was pounded,there were 4 boats working it when I showed up at 9:30 am,along with the 3 other boats that were drifting the shore in front of me.......all of us worked that Hole,I seen what was probly that Red you caught, he followed my spoon once,then never turned his head again......you must have thrown something else a bit slower than me

Boat sure looks nice,it would be my Honor to be your Polling Beauch ,and No Worries,if the water drops,we still have my, slightly larger than a PFD, Johnny to get in tight if need be

Gator : It was great to finaly meet ya out there,but you kinda caught me Off-Gaurd with the Brad Question........Last week,Brad left his Cell Phone next to my Sun-Glasses on the back of my boat....when I pulled off to back the boat down the ramp,they fell off in the Parking Lot.......well,about 9:30 I get a call from Brad`s Cell Phone,but Brad is in the front of my boat .....I answer........." Are you fishing near Scottsmore ? "........Yes.........Well I found your Phone in the Parking Lot,keep on fishing,I live down the road,so when your done, call me,and I`ll meet you there to return it..........

So that was kinda Freaky

Time to find another Spot
