| | Are houndfish edible? Are they good for bait? And if so what time of fish bite on houndfish. |

| | I am guessing that houndfish are edible, but also guessing that they probably don't taste very good based on their species being very oily, and no market for them that I am aware of. Here is a pic of a nice houndfish Trim-Tab caught from my boat, it was good for a couple of jumps and a couple of pics, and was released to do whatever it is that houndfish do.....

| | Thanks Cracker, the look on Trim-Tabs face says it all.....when the houndfish skyrocketed about 100+ feet behind the boat, all he got was a glimpse of the bars and was hoping for a wahoo. Although this was his first houndfish and he wasn't too upset just catching something new and rather unique.....also one of the biggest I've seen ('round here at least). For a skinny little fish, he managed to put up a pretty good fight! chumhead

| Caught this one a couple weeks ago beach fishing. Hit a Storm Miner 1/4 oz hardbait! Tight Lines,
