Here's my situation.  I will be in gulf shores April 17-20.  I'm taking 4 rods.  A surf rod, A spinning set up with a beetle spin, A spinning set up rigged with a DOA shrimp, and a baitcasting set up rigged for topwater (obviously I will have more tackle, this is just what I planned on starting with).  I was just curious as what I may be able to get into from the beach, esp early morning while it's still calm.  Are the specs and reds running the beach at all that time of year?  Will my best bet to rig a set up to catch bait, and just hang out with the surf rod on the beach, and venture to Perdido pass, or try to wade some in Little Lagoon to try to get on some reds?

Take the drive out to Ft. Morgan, I have had luck on reds, specks and sometimes nice bluefish there.
