| | If I use a tapered saltwater leader do I need a tippet as well or is that enough? |

| I would still use a tippet. Something a little thicker so it doesn't get bit off...

| | Thanks for the quick response Vlap. Give me a typical redfish outfit. The amounts and lengths of backing, line, leader, etc. I appreciate it. |

| I usually get the tapered leader and then add a short section (@12") of 20-30 lb mono. tie a handshake knot (2 look knots) and you won't have to keep cutting your leader when changing flies.
I am no expert but this seems to work for me.

| | Do you tie the loop knots at line to leader or leader to tippet? What knots do you use for each? |

| I use a nail knot for the flyline to leader. That first piece of leader make a short piece and tie a loop knot From there tie on your tapered leader with a loop knot as well. Now if you need to change leaders you don't have to cut your line. I will use a uni-uni along the length of the leader if I make my own and then finish with a loop knot. To this add your tippet with another loop knot. This keeps you from cutting your leader too often.
As I have said before I am no expert. This is just how I do it.
