| | Can anyone give me any feedback on the Quantum Boca reel? Pound for pound it looks like it stacks up pretty nice to the Cabo except in number of bearings. Any info would be appreciated. |

| | Have one its ok....I like the catalyst better,,,buddy had a Boca and the internals shreded on a Big Snook he got rid of it. I am sure some are fine but I am not real pleased with the feel of the reel when you turn the handle. For the "matched pinion gear and drive gear" it seems like the one I have should feel alot smoother. It only takes one GladesGhost |

| | own both cabo and catalyst reels havent had problems with either like cabo because they are built like a tank the only reel difference in cabo and boca are the number of bearings and the forged one piece handel other than that there the best reels i have fished with other than a van staal but the van staal isnt smooth because its internals are surrounded by grease they will nerver be as smooth as a regular unsealed reel not surrounded by grease you have to give up some smoothness to make the worlds toughest spinning reels. |

| Proud owner of one and getting another this summer. Very smooth and accurate. I have dunked mine in the salt a few times and everything is running great. (although i ofcourse took the times to clean it) only thing that i guess would be a concern is that the paint chips away at the bottom ha probly bcause i dropped mine on the rocks. Great reel though |

| | I thought the catalyst was primarily a freshwater rig. I saw them and they look pretty sweet. But, can they hold up to inshore abuse? I haven't seen any specs that talk about sealed bearings or anything of that nature. |

| | Quantum has both saltwater and freshwater reels there is a saltwater catalyst reel designed for saltwater use with sealed bearings and 6 layer paint job the saltwater reels are heavier than freshwater reels the reels are a little different but about the same they build great reels smooth and durable take any quantum reel apart and you see all metal parts no plastic just rubber handels thats it |

| | The most inportant difference I know of between the Cabo and the Boca reels is the Cabo has stainless steel gears. I own 2 Boca 60's that i use for Tarpon and have been told they wont hold up over the long run. Ive only used them one season and no problems yet.But thats not to say they wont crap out. If they do Im told I can have stainless gears put in the at a reasonable cost.

| | Some guy posted a review on cabela's saying that the new magnetic bail system on the boca and catalyst automatically closes sometimes on hard casts. Has anyone experienced that? |
