| | I made one from a 12' wooden dowl rod. Sanded it until it was smooth as glass then applied a water resistant clear coat. To finish it off I purchased a $10 ducks foot from bass pro. It's worked perfert and is in your price range. |

| | I had one for 2 years and sold it with the boat. I washed it down after each use and used a stainless nut, bolt, and washer. Also if you spray a light coat of WD-40 on it after you wash it this will keep it from rustiing. |

| Yeah,I guess I`m not the best at wash`n down the boat after each trip......mostly just spray it off the night before I take it out heck it`s just a John-Boat.........but the Spring broke on the third trip, witch made it a Lame-Duck.... So I took it to work, used 1/4" All-Thread and Lock-Nut`s across the bottom of the foot to lock it into place, and that got me a few more trip`s before the feet broke at the Pivit Bolt, leaving me with just the alum cap on the end of my pole.....Dead-Duck Even when it was brand new,it was limited on how you could use it,with alot of drag comming through the water, working harder for half the distance ........I`m sure with Limited Use,and a good Wash`N Oil after each Saltwater Trip,it will last.........but I use mine like a Trolling Motor,if the Outboard ain`t Pushing the boat....I Am Find someone that does Tig Welding, they should have enough scrap around to make you a nice " Y " Maintainance Free Mud-Tip......and if you have a Cold-One for him when he`s done,it might cost about the same as that Duckfoot......Less Weight,Last Forever,Less Drag

| find a perfect piece of bamboo that ur hand fits around well. cut it down, let it dry out and taadaa. after drying the pole out it'll weight close to nothing, but when drying it out keep it out of the sun or it'll split.
P.O.S. BOATS NOTHING RUNS LIKE A PIECE OF **** |

| | I used PVC 1" tubing, stuffed it with insullation to make it rigid, and two end caps. WORKS GREAT for me to pole around with a 16' gheenoe. You might wanna go a little larger tubing for a bigger boat. |
