From my understanding, the only other way is to weld a new skeg on, grind it flush and paint.
I think the skeg guard would be a lot cheaper ( and prettier )

| if its small use JB weld stick a glob on the skeg then file it down and paint it you will never know the difference

| | I agree with the JB weld fix, I know a mechanic up north who was restoring an old motorcycle (an old allstate) and the camshaft was worn down so bad the valves wouldn't open enough to run, and since no one made a replacement cam he ground down the lopes, added JB weld then ground them down to spec. and it was still running strong even years later. Give it a try, just prep it good. Good luck, Mike
