Well I cant believe I am the first one to put anything on here!! Y`all are slippin ! I made it home around 5 P.M. this afternoon, sun burnt, and heat rash in places we doooont wanna talk about ! But , it was an absolutely fantastic weekend !! The weather was HOT ! but it couldnt have been a more perfect weekend , blue skies, light to moderate wind, cool night breeze , lots and lots of food , cold beer and a redneck surround sound system...to radios playin the same station on either side of camp.

Brenda and I met Cracker and Bones at the ramp, unloaded the trucks and did our best Jed Clampet impression, idleing across the flats with alll kinds of crap hangin off the sides of the boat !(pics to follow ! lol ) We arrived at the clinker island with the only casualty being a lighter that fell overboard at the ramp. at least it wasnt my zippo !

We sat up camp and spent a peacefull evening listening to the idiots running up on the sand bars at 30 mph in a minimum wake zone..suckin down a few cold ones and having own own special redneck version of shore lunch heaven.

After a nice 3 hour nap..it was saturday morning and time to hit the water by 6 am to pick up Mike and Jama at the ramp. I /We have found some new life long friends! We got to the island and went strait to fishin ! Nice Trashcan Slam Tom !! Mike hung with the Big Dogs too let me tell ya...It was sooo awesome to see him out there wading the flats with us..gotta be more times like that , Fishing ...well.....it sucked , but who cares , We had a great time just spending time getting to know each other, telling fish stories and making fun of Crackers trash fish he caught. 2DFlats(Joe) showed up in his canoe a little later, we did some catchin up, introductions and more fishin.  we sent Joe to the skinny water to catch us some dinner and he brought back a huuuuge (ALLIBY) lol..so it was more smoked ribs , JOHNSONVILLE Brats, and Nathans hotdogs .

Will and his fishin partner showed up for a few minutes and I had the oppourtunity to wave at the back of his head as he screamed back to the ramp so he could make the weigh in for the Brandon Charity tourney(congrats on the 3rd place finish!) And maybe I can meet ya the next time ! lol I felt purrrty darn stupid standing there waitin for ya to come up to camp..

Then the fun really began !! New Guy on the flats and his wonderfull bride Alexa(hope I spelled that right) showed up and it was several hours of drinks, laughs and some of the deepest B/S  ya ever heard...Brian..me and you gotta hang out and party sometime ! You two are deffinatly the life of a party lol

This went on till late afternoon/early evening when Brian had to leave, so we settled into a more calm pattern of relaxation that lasted until about 1 am or so , when Joe decided he was calling it quits and paddleing back across the flats in a 15 mph wind...hell he may be in Bermuda by now ??

The next morning produced even more beatiful weather and one of the most awesome sunrises I have ever seen on the water

Since I have turned a short story into a novel I will rap it up with , we packed up around noon today , bid Mike and Jama farwell and make the earth shattering treck into Orlando at a mind numbing 30 mph...Tom felt sorry for me with all the problems I had so decided to mess up his truck and make me feel better...So an hour ride to Toms place took us 3 hours after several pitstops to let the CHEVY, cool down . I left Toms just in time to drive in a blinding rain on I-4 from Orlando to Polk county, then the sky cleared up and the rest of the trip was without incident....pictures...lots a pictures to follow ...when we gonna do it again ???

And as I sit here doing a edit now that I can see straight...I have a freakin hurricane fixin to kick my A$$...but , who cares , it was all worth it !

Well, I made it back to the house in the around 1:am and unloaded the important stuff from the canoe, took a shower and went right to bed!!!  WOW what a day.  Thanks to all for making yet another unofficial/official AF outing GREAT!   Mike/Jama and Newguy on the flats and Alexa, it was great to finally meet you.  Will, It was good to see (all 2 min of it) again and congrats on the great tournament finish.  Cat chaser, I missed you but I heard you were around.

I did catch some fish but they weren't mogans.  I caught 3 reds and 4 trout. I ended up tagging two reds (all about 14 inches long) and I didn't have the heart to tag the little one which was about 8 inches long.

Now that I know where this place is, I may just have to make it back up there in the future.

Thanks again to all that showed up.

I know,... I meant to post earlier, but got wrapped up with things here. It was a real treat for me and Jama to get up there this weekend. I enjoyed just getting away from everything. Meeting LT, Brenda, and Joe was a real thrill, sorry we missed Will and Brian and Alexa, but we did get to see Phil (cat chaser), him and the kids stopped by to say Hi. Cracker and Bones really done an excellent job putting all this together, and it was definitly worth the drive!! I needed that more than anything, and really appreciate all the planning and time spent making everything just right guys!!!

Pics will be coming soon, I think between all of us, we should have pretty complete photo coverage of how things went. Thanks again to everyone who showed up, it was the best experience I've had in a very long time.

After finally dragging my butt outta bed Saturday morning around 10:00 (I had an exhausting week, needed the rest) Alexa and I loaded up and headed to the lagoon.  We fished the south end for a while and managed a couple of trout.  Bait was everywhere.  We decided it was time to head to the island and made the trek north.  It was nice meeting L.T., Brenda, and Joe and seeing Tom and Rena. All I have to say is "Good People." Sorry we missed you Mike and Jama. I will catch up with you at MM.  We had a great time shooting the breeze and consuming adult beverages. Tom and L.T., the food was excellent.   I wish we had only been able to stay longer. Thanks for your hospitality. L.T., I think we need to hang out at MM!!!   I hope to see Joe there as well.  I am looking forward to Mogan Mania and the next get-together.

Back to work!

Tight Lines,

Brian
