were the target for this particular adventure to this DEEP reservior in South Carolina... lol Well I went 0 for 2 on the bigguns but we still had a great time on this family vacation. To keep this a fishing report I will get down to it...First day fishing had several bites from bass and spotted one that would have EASILY exceeded 8lbs and more likely pushed 10-12 lbs....but the mogan didn't want anything I threw at her in the crystal water...They don't get that big being stupid I guess lol...Well my next fishing I was waiting on my dad and a close family friend as the parked the truck after launching the boat so I began to cast a crank bait to some rock shelfs near the boat launch. On my third cast I got hammered...The fish took several spirited runs, but I finally landed the bass...It was a nice 3-4lb red eye bass...Dad and our friend were hollarin' and rootin' for me as the watched from the ramp. Well as the family toured the mountain trails I hit the water in the kayak...I landed a nice small mouth bass around 2lbs and lost another bass that I didn't get a good hook set on. My last morning before leaving I hit the water in the kayak at 6 hoping for some early morning action...I got early morning action, but it was in the form of a nice chop on the water and 15 mph winds which made for some interesting kayak fishing...I followed the bank for about 5 miles to a dam with no fish landed and only 1 bite when i decided it was a good time to head back...So I set a rod up to troll and I trolled back in search of a nice Brown Trout...I had no takers, but it was a great time none the less...What the trip lacked in quantity of fish made up for in the quality of the time I had with my parents, my brother, and my neighbors...We stayed at a cabin on the lake for a week and visited Gatlinburg, TN and tore up the water...Whether it was fishing, tubing, or wake boarding. It was a great time...and I even got to see my mom get up on the wake board on her first attempt...Albeit she has been around water all her life and her entire youth she skied and spend on a lake it was still very impressive...We have some great pictures of this beautiful trip on the lake nestled in the valleys of mountains that I will post when I get the pictures back.
