| i fished crb this morning... had a great time with terryw from another site... she really knows her way around there... i ended up with a nice red and a nice lil trout... the red put up a fantastic fight which included a trip into the mangrives for the fish and myself... after working it back out it ran back to the middle of the channel... where i was able to finish the fight with style... i didnt get a measure but it was a big red... slot size type...the pict as always doesnt do it justice... after that we went out front and found a small trout...
from there we went in search of a snook to complete my slam... saw numerous snook but just couldnt find one that was hungry.. tried getting into some jacks busting surface but everytime i got close the frenzy would stop, move away, and resume...
all in all it was a wonderful day spent in an incredible area... once away from the boat launch i didnt see but 3 boats all day... it was honestly so quiet at times i could hear the seagrass rubbing against the underside of my yak...
after the fun filled day of fishing i went off to st. pete and picked up a new fishing rod (well new to me) it is a st croix avid series 7' med action rod.... very nice... and even better i payed less then 1/3 of its normaly high price... i cant wait to try it out tomorrow...
on a funny note... after playing in the mangroves i notice 2 small passengers on my yak... 2 of those dark colored crabs that crawl on trees... i tried to swat them off but they just crawled around the front of the yak... well many hours later i drive home...put the yak in the apt... and go change...come back out to living room and in the middle of the floor is that dern crab just staring at me... well i picked it up and threw it out the door... well actually placed it on the ground with best wishes.. i checked a few spots on the way home from picking up the rod but the wind was really blowing out there...so i stopped at a friends and just relaxed...

all fish were released to fight yet anothr day...

| Aint nothin like a redfish! It aint that the red is small, or that the pic does not do it justice. It is those huge baseball mitts you call hands. Dooood, I have been holdin back sayin it but I can't anymore

| its ok doa... i almost said it myself... and that red was fun... nothing like getting towed all over the place while fighting one.... if that red hadnt gone back out into the channel terry would have towed me out of the mangroves so i could fight the fish w/o branches in my face...
