Football season means hot wings!!  I make them "Buffalo" style but then I make a spicy Asian style with a peanut dipping sauce.  I bake them though so you don't have to feel as guilty as eating the fried version.

I also make a pretty mean, hot shrimp and crab dip with homemade baked pita chips to get us through the game.

Simply the sounds of football bring back such wonderful memories of growing up in Nebraska watching the Cornhuskers.  On Sundays, I'd sit with my dad on the couch all afternoon watching the NFL games.  We'd snack on crackers and cheese, he'd peel apples and slice them for us . . . he'd let me have a Shasta or two while he'd drink a beer or two.  I love Football season and am so glad it's here!!

You have a recipe for the artichoke dip and the frogmore? I have not heard of frogmore before.
Just to tease ya. Here is last nights dinner. Grilled buffalo steaks marinated in chipolte bbq, grilled fries and grilled asparagus. Incredible tasty!

Tonight is grilled pizza margherita!

I first had frogmore stew (low country boil) at an in-law wedding. Man it was great.

I think this recipe is a combination of what the in-laws said they did and a recipe from the Sea Island resort.

You can adjust as needed depending on what you have and how many are eating.

The best part is that preparation is short and you can enlist many folks to do that during commercials without missing any plays - football or baseball.

You just get a big pot boiling - season it and add ingredients in the order of how long it takes them to cook. Shrimp is about 2 minutes if you ask me. Those outside propane cookers work well or you can do it indoors.

And you can dump the final product out on a picnic table covered with newspaper and let folks dig in.

1/2 lb. Keilbasa per person
1/2 lb. Raw shrimp in shell per person
3 Red bliss potatoes per person
1 Ear of corn per person
2 Lemons
Cayenne pepper
Cloves
Garlic
Bay leaves
Old Bay Seasoning
Black pepper
Tabasco

2 Small onions per person
1 Carrot cut into 4ths per person
1-2 crabs per person if you have them.

Boil water in a large kettle on stove or outdoor cooker.

Season water with salt and your choice of above flavorings along with the juice of two lemons or 2 tablespoons of vinegar.

Add potatoes and cook for 10 minutes.

Add carrots, sausage and onions. Bring back to a boil. When potatoes and carrots are almost tender about ten minutes,

add corn and crabs. Bring to a boil, about ten more minute

then add shrimp. Cook a few minutes until shrimp are just done - they will be pink in color.

Drain and dump on the table.

Add lots of sweet iced tea and beer and football or baseball.
