Here are pics from my two days of fishing this weekend. I did not have time to post the story and pics so I will do something different and for the first time ever for me, I will post the pics first. When I get a chance, I will add the story behind them.... hope you enjoy!

June 2nd

We started out with a morning high tide (which I love in the summer). Shelby was throwin the bait buster and I was usin a skitter walk. In less than one hour we had caught over a dozen slot trout with nothing under 18 inches. Shelb caught a nice 22 incher and then this 24 incher nailed my topwater. Ya ever had those days when the fish just fight harder than usual. This was one of those times. This trout spun out drag repeatedly, and even jumped ENTIRELY out of water several time. It was a tarpon trout! Fat and Happy!

Top Water Gator

After catching the trout we got ran off the water by a storm that you can see in the background of the above pic. After having lunch and waiting the storm out, we hit the water again and caught the following redfish.

Redfish + Evinrude E-TEC and POWER POLE UNINTENTIONAL PROMO

Homeward Bound

Miz DOA's mom's mogan red (to my suprise it was just under slot) Yeah, and I thought she liked DOA shrimp before!

Another Beautiful fish in a Beautiful place....God is good!

These reds were foolin me. Once hooked they peeled drag like no tomorrow. You had no idea what size the fish were by the fight. I thought I had a moose several times.

June 3rd

I just love holding them

Another rusty scrapper

I would like to thank the previous fish for contributing (being the model) to perhaps one of the finest works of art I have ever seen... sorry for the bad pic quality but the pic itself speaks to the addiction in all of us. This is my passion.

We got ran off the water again by a worse storm and we did not get back on the water because the weather was kinda nasty the rest of the day. Instead we went shopping and sight seeing to a state park and spring. The trail hike was nice going through the old Florida how it used to be. A great little vacation. My dad told me Saturday night that I mights as well come home instead of driving back Sunday morning, but my take on vacation is that it is not special just because of where you are, but for where you are not. I want to getaway for as long as I can before comming back to the stresses reality.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Miz DOA!!!!! I hope a two day fishing trip is what you wanted, hee hee hee

I once had a bad day of fishing, but it was still great!

Aqua Force 18ft shallow draft bay runner. Floats in 8 inches with two people on board yet cut's waves better than a traditional flats skiff.

Rapala skitter walk silver mullet (an all around reliable choice)

I once had a bad day of fishing, but it was still great!

Thank you, Mangrove.

And thank you DOA. That was a wonderful way to spend my birthday. Very relaxing, and to simply do my passion for 2 days back to back with you was AWESOME! I appreciate you taking me. These trips will deffinately be one of those things in life I will never forget and I enjoy them over anything.

Like DOA said, the fish fought like crazy. I had no idea what size fish I had at any time unless it jumped out of the water, like several did. DOA's 24" trout jumped completely out of the water like a mullet. I actually had to figure out what I was watching. I am not a very sturdy person, I lose my balance pretty easily in the boat, so I had to hold tight this weekend. A fish would hit and literally pull me forward. It was a BLAST! I will never forget it. The storms threw the day off quite a bit, I had planned to fish sun up to sun down, but thats ok- it was still a lot of fun.

I will say though...I LOVE THAT BOAT! We went through some rough weather, meaning ROUGH water, and that boat just glided through. We will go up on a wave and I would hold on for dear life thinking I was about to go overboard, and it just smoothly went over the wave.

Thanks again, DOA! I will always remember these trips. What a way to spend your birthday.
