| | Untill DOA jumps in here with his handy dandy diagram, you might check in the furum archives. There is a link to it up in the right upper side of the forum. I know it was discussed at length! Good luck!!

| | The diagram I drew I believe got lost in the transition from the old forum to this one and it seems to not be on my cpu anymore as well, but here is one from DOALURES.COM http://www.doalures.com/knots.htm It works but I do not tie it on the right side of my lure, I usually hold the lure in my right hand and then make the loops to my left. I don't know if this is easier because I am right handed or if it is just the way I learned it. Teaching people how to tie this allllllll the time, I have identified three common mistakes that will cause knot failure. #1 Loop direction: Both loops must be formed the same direction and the line comming from the lure must pass over (lay over or on top of) the line going to the rod. #2 Tag Entry: After forming the loops, the tag end of the line must pass through the second loop (which has been poked through the first) in the side facing you #2 Pulling Tight: When you have finished and pull the knot tight, you must hold the tag end but DO NOT pull on it. Apply pressure to it by holding it still but DO NOT pull the tag end to tighten, this will make the knot sinch down solid instead of forming the loop you want. Hold the lure and tag end in the same hand and pull the main line. Hope this helps

| Where did you get that diagram?... I believe it is faulty if I am looking at it right. The two loops are not turned the same direction, they have to be turned the same direction.

| | Well well, I just tied it and Mangrove is right. I thought both loops had to be turned the same way but apparently not.
