Friday - The tides were right after work for some sunset snookin' so Mike and I loaded up the rods and a pocket full of glo shrimp and were on our way. The bite was pretty slow from what was expected. In fact, throughout the time slot we expected to catch snook, we only caught trout. The "kiddie pool" never opened. The kiddie pool is a pothole in the middle of this flat we fish and the juvie snook stack up and feed like a school of jacks. We were fishing the edge of the sand bar to see if maybe they were staging in a different area and I hooked into something much larger than we normally hook into out there. Then it jumped! After a lengthy battle, I finally finessed the 35" snook in. I didn't have a camera out wading so no pics but I do have a witness on the forum so it still counts!

Saturday - Mike and I went out on Roger's (our neighbor) new Gheenoe to show him how to fish in the shallows. A buddy of his took his Gheenoe out with us but soon parted ways after we launched. Sorry about his luck! All they caught was 1 catfish! I spent most of the day on the back deck with the push pole playing 'guide' for the day. How did we do?

Roger with a snook...

Mike with a redfish...

Roger with a trout...

We got a SLAM for the boat! Yeah, yeah, I know that trout is small. We caught bigger ones but that cute lil guy makes a better picture.

Sunday - Had to get caught up on some house work... but I did watch some fishing on TV. The FLW Kingfish show was on. Good job guys!

Monday - It was time to get back to what I love the most... kayak fishing! Now I won't go into great details of who I was with, who was supposed to go, or who caught/didn't catch what... but I will say "9 reds at the end of the day separates those who know from those that have no."
