| | On an affordable standpoint I really like the Extreme rods from Bass Pro I've caught some good sized w/ them and it felt great fighting the fish on them |

| I've got a pair of custom rods from Capt. Karl that are my favorite!!! 7'9 graphite shikari blanks with custom measurements and Fuji SIC guides. These are my go to rods for having to make long casts with light weight lures or shrimp at weiry bonefish or redfish, plus they have enough backbone to put the brakes on a snook surging into the mangroves. Do yourselves a favor, ask Capt. Karl to build you a custom and give it a shot.

| I like the new Ugly Stick intercoastal for a cheap rod. My next rod will be a Shimano Trevala for Butterfly jigging...unless someone has an alternative.

| I bought a shakspear ugly stick lite combo with a shakspear reel for like 40$ at basspro and it an awesome combo for the price you cant beat it. The only problems I have had are with the rod is that I broke the metal eye ring on the tip but I can complain I've caught several 30+ inch snook on it and some giant stingrays.
