| How high is a typical polling platform and does it make that much difference in your ability to see? I am looking at making some changes to my boat. Thanks, PCplastic |

| | I dont personally have one, but I have stood on one of my friends on the flats. Oh my gosh yes you can see tons better. Think about it, what do you see more clearly, that which is in the water directly in front of you, or farther out? When you get higher, you are looking down more and an see much better. I am thinkin a normal platform is about 2 and 1/2 to 3 feet but they even make smaller ones that go on the FRONT of flats boats to help you see better,
I once had a bad day of fishing, but it was still great! CHB: the few, the proud, the chosen |

| It depends on the type of boat and engine you might have, like if you have a jack-plate and so on. DEFINITELY makes a difference on what you see and don't see. But i'll let you in on a secret,,I use mine most of the time to sit and eat my lunch(lol).

| Thanks for the information. I am actually looking at building a platform on the front of my boat. If I go through with it and it works I will post pictures. PCPlastic |

| | PC....you interested in a platform for the back? I still have the old one off my old boat, and the guy that bought it has never called back to get it. It needs repairs to one weld, other than that it is in great shape if it would fit your boat. Let me know.....real cheap.....(a six pack, and you can help drink it). chumhead

| | Thanks chumhead but I can't run my trolling motor from the back. I also have to be careful about how I rig things on my piece of plastic. I like the boat but it does come with challenges PCPlastic |

| | PC, The 1st time you jump up on a poling platform you'll freak out! I believe that most are set up at 4'. So if your deck sits 2' off the water and you're 6' tall and your platform is 4'....12' above the water you see lots. One thing is for sure, they do come in handy for sitting on, leaning on, and having lunch on..... |

| | It depends on how big your motor is.......Power Trim and Tilt.......Jack Plate..........At your Motor`s Highest Piont weather Tilted or Jacked, then give another 6 inches for Breathing Room = Min Hieght {I may be wrong,But}it looks like every foot you go up,you can see another 10 feet out on the Radius.....So Yes,Getting High is a Good Thing Here
