water was very high on the flats today...3 to 4ft where it is usually 1ft...wind was up also and from a bad direction[NW]...the mangroves were flooded out so I pushed up inside where it is usually dry land and seen a bone way up in the roots...I used a heavy clouser to get down and dirty in the mangroves...finally  got a cast in the maze of roots and saplings...finally I did get a hard fought bone but it was very tough...a meager 7lb'r but I'll take it just the same

Hey bonefish whisperer, I'm heading to Juno beach at the end of june, a friend of mine lives there and is taking me out for tarpon. I'm thinking of heading south after that for bones or permit. am I high thinking I might be able to do this on my own. I don't care if catch anything, I just want to get on some flats and learn. I love my rocky mtn. rivers but I have some serious saltwater fever going on and want to learn all I can.

gotta stop wishin, gotta go fishin, im down to rock bottom again!
