| MahaBones (5/29/2006) If I were to put the battery switch on the boat to "BOTH" could I put terminals on one battery and charge bothI don't have or really need an onboard charger, but ice in the bilge has made my batteries run down in the winter more than once. Hook up the charger and put it on "both", and it will take longer, of course, but both batteries WILL charge just fine. Actually, I think it's better for the batteries to both run and charge together evenly. I keep my switch on BOTH 90% of the time and I've gotten some very long usage from my batteries, in the order of 7 years, and still hot! This may be average in FL, but up here, where it's 8 degrees this morning, that is very long life. -TH |

| Why do you have a seperate battery for electronics? I do believe Dual has a four bank charger and possibly Minn Kota, But you should be able to be fine with three batteries unless you have old batteries or run several lights for night fishing???? My 3 bank "Ranger" Dual Pro charger charges my batteries quick and then maintains then until I head to the water. The three indictors show red when the batteries are weak and need charging and green when I am GTG (good to GO). I have a plug holder and you can even purchase a recepticle that will let you plug in the charger without opening a hatch. Can get a better picture. |
