I may be doing it wrong, but i have actually worn a groove in the crease of my index and middle finger from stripping. Granted i did go wading two full days in a row with nothing but a fly rod, but should this be happening? I look down at my white line yesterday and realize its a bit pink, one look at my bloody hand and i knew something was wrong. Today i can barely use my right hand! I see people using gloves on their right hand but figured they were just for grip. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have never heard of that before...try not pinching the line so tight and also use silicon spray on your line and it willnot have the friction to burn you...good luck

I use lycra stripping guards that come 3 to a pack from Feathercraft. They are lycra sleeves that you slip over your stripping finger, and they are only around 4 bucks. They are thin enough to still feel the line, but will stop line burns.... Rob
