Well the cobia have shown up at Cape Hatteras, and the sizes are HUGE! so far there have been a dozen fish caught from the surf from 30- 93 pounds! Would like to post pictures, but dead fish have been eliminated from the pics catagory. I must refresh all that these are fish caught casting from the surf! Great sport, good times. Hope I am able to top 77 pounds this year myself.  Well take care everyone, and hope all your fishing ventures are great!

The rigs and island passes over here are finally loaded up with cobes also... Gonna try to get on em this weekend. Caught 5 so far this spring (only 30-40 lbs) though... Still; the brown fever is something that is hard to shake!!! Especially when you're snapper fishing and you see a 5ft log slowly coming through your chum line to the back of you're boat!!! Break out the eels boy's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I must stress one thing about these fish here, we are casting baits from the surf and catching them. I think its quite unique for the fishery cause I really haven't heard about these guys in the surf any where but here, but I could be wrong as well. I took my kayak out last Wed. and had about a 35-40 pounder swim up to me, close enough to pet, well almost. That same day I got lots of Spanish Mackerel, including 4 of them in the 3-4 pound range and a whopping 6 1/4 pounder for my first NC Citation fish! I am finding more and more fun just off the surf line in the yak. I will try to update as this get better.
