Yes I have the article.

Send me your email address and I will send it to you.

One article I have was in Sport Fishing magazine Sept./Oct 2001. They tested 87 braid and mono 20 pound lines several years ago.  20lb Power Prow tested at 27.1 mean wet strength. An article in Sport Fishing magazine 8/2007 had 20lb Power Pro dry break strength at 36lb.

In the more recent article 20lb Spiderwire Ultracast broke at 51.6lb

I would think that if the same type of tests were done on 10lb or 50lb lines the results would be close to the same number of lines breaking at a higher test then on the package.

I would definetly chose 10lb for a 2500 size reel.

Even if you are fishing around structure; docks and such i would still go with the 10 lb PP. The abrasion resistance is so strong your leader is going to cut on some barnacles way before the PP will. And you will get longer casts.
