| | I have a different attitude about Memorial Day than the popular one. Since I lost a cousin on D-Day and had another wounded on Iwo, and a special member of my team as well as several shipmates, I spend the day remembering them, as well as all the others that paid the ultimate price. That is what the "memorial" part of the day stands for. It is also what it was instituted for. I save the revelry part for Armistice(Veterans) Day.JMLO THANKS TO ALL WHO WORE A UNIFORM OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY!!!!

| Please just remember what Memorial Day is really about, it's not about getting a day off, or the start of summer it's about us honoring the fallen in their role in defending our nation. We are indebted to the countless men and women over the past 230 years who did their duty, gave their lives and kept us free. I hope you'll take a moment to reflect on the patriotism and courage of those who died in service to our country. If you have never visited a veterans cemetery this weekend is a good time to do it....even if for just a moment...as you stand there amongst the head stones just think what they have done for you....it's a sobering feeling. Dedicated to the Memory of Our Brother's and Sister's in Arms May They Live Forever in Our Hearts.
