| | I have a Carolina Skiff 24DLX that floats quite shallow....'bout 6 inches.

There are many people out there that will say the ride is bad, they are wet boats, etc, etc,.....but just about everyone thats been on mine has been very impressed given what they heard beforehand. This 80" wide floor model is available from 16' to 24', but they have narrower models down to 12'. I took Trim Tab, my son and another friend fishing 6 miles offshore in 18-20 mph winds and had a blast. Extremely stable boats, specially while at anchor or drifting as the flat bottom does not allow much, if any, rolling. I couldn't be happier with mine. Fuel economy is fantastic (over 8mpg with my 24' w/140hp @ 25-28mph cruise) and top end over 40mph ( while still getting over 4mpg @WOT). More interior room and weight capacity than just about any other boat of the same size (mine is USCG rated for 18 people). I think it would be worth your time to at least check them out. They are also self bailing (with proper weight distribution) and built like a tank. chumhead
