| | Don't think that live bait or cut bait is the main way to go... There is alot I can and will say but do yourself a favour and buy the "Unfair Advantage" DVD from www.doalures.com DOA lures have never let me down. Go to www.youtube.com/aftv and scroll down to the videos from MattDOAman on the left of your screen. Here you will see the tactics and fish you can catch on DOA lures and advice on how to use them. You can also look in the "fishing reports" section of this website and look at any thread started by me "DOA" here you will almost always see pictures and advice on which DOA's I used, why and how I used them and more. If you have any specific questions about the lures, let me know but the most important piece of advice I can give to anyone getting into fishing is this............ DO NOT TRY TO LEARN TOO MANY THINGS AT ONE TIME, PICK ONE LURE (MAYBE TWO AT MOST) AND FISH FISH FISH UNTIL YOU BECOME VERY VERY EFFICIENT AT THAT LURE, THEN TRY SOMETHING ELSE IF YOU WISH. The biggest mistake any young angler can make is to try and do too much too soon. Hope this helps!

| DOA....would you start off with the shrimp because it is so life like or the C.A.L. cause you can work it faster and cover more ground? So far I have had equal success with the CAL,Baitbuster and TerrorEyez...with only a few on the Shrimp......need patience which is hard to have when they are busting bait in front of you.
A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work !!! |

| | Fishing with live shrimp on the bottom , you are almost guaranteed to catch catfish, try free lining the shrimp or floating them on a cajun thunder or the ol bayside paradise popper(better rig) but a little more at the checkout counter, work it on the edges of the potholes in the grass flats and target schools of mullet, where you find mullet , the reds wont be far off. Live pinfish are also a good bait , the reds will tear em up ! Also try the johnson sprite gold spoon ! They will produce in the area you are fishing...same routine ..find the mullet and you find the reds..see Crackers report posted yesterday ...But be careful ...they are sharp !

| | Many people really like the CALS but I have not had as much luck with them as the Baitbuster, Terroreyez, and Shrimp. The terroereyez was my first DOA lure to fall in love with and it it what caught us at least 2 dozen reds and three heafty trout yesterday as you will see in my fishing report. The terroreyez however cannot be effectively used on any bottom it could be snagged on like grass etc. The shrimp and baistbuster are better choices for bottom like that. The shrimp is an all around favourite but it's casting distance does hinder it's usefullness somewhat. Schooling fish love that baitbuster but if you can get close enough, I would rather throw the shrimp because it drives em nuts just sittin there. The shrimp is perhaps the hardest DOA to master because you have to have the right gear to fish it correctly, the technique, and the patience.
