They are great there and can hook you up with the baits we have been having huge success on. Soft plastics on a weighted hook with a hitchhiker to hold the plastic. The north end of the river has been good, as well as the lagoon.

RE: slot redfish

Like Capt. Will said,South Lagoon holds Tons of fish year-round,but with all the traffic, fish will be spooky. The Eastern Shore of the Goon is great also,I like the "Turtle Pen" and " Cucumber Island " witch are almost dew East from the Bio-Lab Ramp.........Work Inside of Sand-Bar to the Shore;)

Capt. Will is on the water more than I,so if he say`s Jig`s and Soft-Plastic`s.......Do so;)

Good Luck !

RE: slot redfish

Set up a drift in the south lagoon. Fish btwn 12-18" of water. Fish bouncing a jig off the bottom with one rod and have another set up with a jerk bait of some sorts. Stay quiet! They've been spooky on the south end. They're all over the flats.

RE: slot redfish

Cracker11: i fish out of an 18' flats boat. if you do have some spots for me i would greatly appreciate it.

RE: slot redfish

Spotremover: Not sure if you fish from a boat or from shore,or what style Spoon you use,but I have good luck with a Johnson"Sprite" Gold Spoon`s,I keep several differant sizes for differant Depth`s,if I`m in shallow I`ll throw a smaller one....Deep,a larger one......your trying to work the water from just under the surface down to just over the Grass,at a Med.-Fast Retrive.......Too large, and it get`s into the grass and Foul`s....too small, and it will run across the surface, good for shallow water, but deeper water it will be out of the strike zone.

Like I said, Med.-Fast Retrive,every forth rotation,give it a twitch;)

Rod-Tip Up........Spoon will run higher in the water colum

Rod-Tip Down......Spoon will run Lower in the water colum

Keep Changing Speed and number of Twitches until you find what they like......I`ve made one cast with a slow retrive, seen three red`s pop thier head`s up to look at it,but no taker`s,only to cast back in the same spot,Rip it back across the Surface, and watched three red`s fight each other to get to that spoon;)

Wind at your back, long cast`s,cover lots of ground.

Let me know if you fish from a boat,Shore or Wade.......Might have a few spots you can try,I fish the North IRL and South Skeeter Lagoon area.

RE: slot redfish

Two Words
Scented Plastics

I fish in LA. quite a bit and they are a different fish over here.
