For sabiki's,I like a longer blank and Gator Glass has one at 10'. The price is reasonable as is the finish on the blank itself. Since it is a bait rod a high gloss on the blank is not needed. As a matter of fact,I paint the first 15" of the blank from the tip with white reflective paint so I can watch the tip when the gogs or threadfins start to hit the sabikis. At night or early morning, you don't want real bright lights in your eyes to distort your night vision. This blank fishes a 20-30lb mainline and I use a triple string of red skin/glow bead sabikis in a No.8 - 10 hook size. The simple foul proof guides and slick butt with an Aftco reel seat and gimbal get you a good sturdy work horse of a bait rod.I like a reliable Penn 3/0 for the reel and use a dehooker when possible to get the best quality bait for the live well.;)

Capt Karl

Interline Rods

I've just got into rod building :D and have soooo many options to go with, but I'm very interested in the interline rods, not only for sabiki's, but also for the 7' med/heavy spinning rods. I've used some of Daiwa's interline rods up north but want to try and build some. Any ideas???

B
