They are all good reels. I don't wash them in a lot of water but more like just lightly wash off the salt and wipe them down.

The line roller on the SOL or Tierra should be greased once in a while to keep it quiet. I also do the same on the Stradic. I use Super Lube grease. Once in a while I also clean my braided line by taking it off the spool and winding it back on while holding it between a rag with a 303 protectant. I know even fly fisherman do that.

    http://www.303products.com/tech/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=428

RE: team daiwa sol

when i yak fish and wade i come home wash my reels off and then spray salt-x on them it works for me

RE: team daiwa sol
sar (8/7/2008)
I have a SOL 3000 spinning reel. I have learned that lesson! You pay way too much money for reels that are suppose to last you a lifetime. But I don't anything built nowadays last a "lifetime"....

RE: team daiwa sol

thx for all ur responses.:)

RE: team daiwa sol
Angler Systems (8/4/2008)

flatsangler (8/4/2008)
around $200:unsure:
Yea that's what I figured. ;)

The general thought pattern seems to be that you get a "better" deal on ebay. However, most times when it comes to fishing tackle that just is not the case. If you'd shop around many online tackle retailers have discounts that far exceed ebay when you take into consideration shipping and most of these retailers will provide excellent service after the sale.

BTW, I could have sold you the same reel for $179.96 ($199.95 less 10%) including free shipping and I would have had it to you in 2 or 3 days. Plus, I'd be there after the sale to personally answer all of your questions....

Any how, you purchased a sweet reel and best of luck with it.

Jeff
I would have to agree with Angler systems on this one. I dont think ebay is the best place to buy new gear. Thats just my opinion.

With that being said I dont think you will notice much difference between 8 and 10# braid on your reel.
I have never owned a Sol but have been told they are nice reels.
As far as holding up to dunking? I dont think any reel is going to hold up to dunkings if not properly serviced after the fact.
Again just my opinion.

RE: team daiwa sol
flatsangler (8/4/2008)
around $200:unsure:
Yea that's what I figured. ;)

The general thought pattern seems to be that you get a "better" deal on ebay.
