I own a 30 and a 50, and have been very pleased with them. The drag system is tremendous, even on the little Sa30, which I have started using spooled with 20 lb PowerPro to catch our 40+ inch redfish under bridges....no problem. Even the Sa30 is rated to produce 45 pounds of drag, the Sa50 is rated for 70 lbs......plenty of stopping power.

http://okumafishingforums.com/showthread.php?t=445

Fishing with a smaller, lighter weight reel is definitely more comfortable after a long day of fishing.

chumhead

RE: witch reel is good for this rod.

hey thx evryone for the responses

i was looking at the diawa sol 2000 as well

i dunno wich one though out of those three

has any1 had experience with any of these reels

:)

RE: witch reel is good for this rod.

I'd suggest:

Daiwa Tierra 2500 @ around $103

Daiwa Advantage 2500 @ around $126

Daiwa SOL 2000 @ around $180

or

Okuma V System Spinning Reels V20A @ around $137

or

Quantum Cabo Spinning Reels CSP20PTS @ around $170

RE: witch reel is good for this rod.

i like using 4000 size reels the larger spool reduces wind knots on braided lines, they cast farther than smaller sizes spools and there drags are smoother and drag washers are larger and stonger than smaller reels and if u hook into a mogan size fish you have the line capacity helps in a yak

witch reel is good for this rod.

i was leanin more torwards the 20. but i heard the drag was not as smooth as the 30.

heres the rod specs.

length pcs line oz. action power

6' 6''

1

6 - 10

1/16 - 5/16

Fast

Light

22

i was going to load it with 8LB power pro.

fish from a yak

any help apreciated.

thx:)
